The ASSIGNMENT is part of the BELAIR research of the PROGRAM. This aims at the development of a Belgian super test site, on which focused earth observation data and in-situ measurement data are collected for the benefit of the Belgian and international research community and that can serve as a calibration and validation site for new AO missions, data and products.

The thematic site BELAIR HESBANIA (agriculture and horticulture) and this ASSIGNMENT aim at data collection for an investigation into whether, to what extent and how (the combination of) different remote sensing data sources can be used to track tree vitality and production in fruit orchards.

The main objective is to perform a series of field measurements in function of the following research theme:
• Evaluation of different image processing techniques for determining tree health and production dynamics in fruit orchards.
