Biopolymers immobilized on polyester membranes via ‘Photo-grafting’. A new vision towards ovular treatments

To treat ocular, mostly cornea related illnesses, a cell carrier is developed to restore damaged cellular monolayers. The implant consists of an ultrathin polyester membrane, combined with a hydrogel micropattern to induce a desired cellular orientation. The micropattern will be generated using two foton polymerisation. Furthermore, the implant will be functionalized with additional extra cellular matrix components.
