Case studies dike vegetations

Dikes are there primarily for flood protection and must be sufficiently erosion-resistant (safety aspect). Targeted design and management of the vegetation can improve erosion resistance and reduce maintenance costs. Dike grasslands also have great ecological potential. This study contributes to the necessary knowledge for sustainable dike management: aimed at the development of vegetation that promotes the erosion resistance of the dike, that has limited maintenance costs and that offers ecological added value.
