Project

Development and Characterization of Enset Fiber Reinforced Polymer Composite for wind Turbine Blades

This reserach work is desined to study the response of biobased fibers to the structural design of dynamic loading. A natural fiber has been brough from Ethiopia, east Sfrica to use as a representative material for the study. this fiber is naturally gifted te deliver a long fiber upto 3 meter sometimes beyond. this fiber is not studied well and needs intensive investigation to use the advantage of its length. The reserach work has taken wind turbione blade as a case study to represent the structural design in hygrothermal and dynamic loading. A 2kW wind blade will be designed and prototyped with the enset fiber for pilot testing.
