EL-FIB : Electroluminescent textiles for home interior decoration (R-9260)

In this project, light-emitting textile designs, based on electroluminescent (EL) technology, will be transformed into rapidly marketable innovative interior products. The value chain and required interactions between the different companies and research teams is represented and offers economical benefit to the partners. The overall aim is to provide a roll-to-roll technology for continuous production of EL-textiles which can be cut individually and plugged together. Research will focus on optimizing EL-systems on textile surfaces regarding power consumption and efficiency as well as color and design. Furthermore the development will concentrate on interconnection technologies, the integration of textile on/ off-switches or sensors, the design of miniaturized inverters and power supplies as well as standardisation of the final product.
