Elderly care in Kuurne

On demand of the Social Service of the Flemish community Kuurne, HIVA analyzes elderly care needs in the community of Kuurne and estimes future needs. To this aim socio-economic and socio-demographic data will be collected and analyzed. Administrative data available from the community, the province of West-Vlaanderen and the Flemish Region will be used. Kuurne will be analyzed and compared with surrounding communities, the province of West-Vlaanderen and the Flemish Region. HIVA will also investigate the actual provision of elderly care services and how elderly care can be organized to meet future needs. In this respect a focusgroup with the Social Service and the providers of elderly care will be organized. Specific attention will be paid to the future role the Social Service can play and the future cost of elderly care for the Social Service. The study is driven by the concept of the housing-care-zone.
