Fiscal benefits for housing in Flanders.

This research aims to contribute to the preparation of the transfer of competence for housing taxation from the Federal State to the Flemish region, which is announced in the Federal coalition agreement of December 2011. The research includes an estimate of the budgetary cost of the current system of tax benefits and of possible reforms. In addition, on the basis of literature research and using available simulation models the impact of possible reforms is evaluated on housing prices, on the affordability of housing, on the quality of existing homes, and on new construction and renovation.
