Highly skilled intra-European labor migration in the context of the economic crisis. Recruitment and professional integration processes in Belgian enterprises. (R-3966)

This doctoral project investigates recruitment and professional integration processes of highly skilled Southern European labour migrants who are directly recruited by Belgian companies in order to fill skill shortages in the context of the economic crisis. The research question is being approached in an interdisciplinary way from a migration and management studies angle. In a mixed method approach, qualitative in-company research is being combined with critical discourse analysis. Thus, this project contributes to the understanding of the role of companies in recruitment and integration processes, power relations in the workplace and identity formation of highly skilled European labour migrants.
