Humanized mice as a model for the study of Hepatitis E virus (HEV) infection

During this project we have shown that mice of which the liver is repopulated with primary human hepatocytes are susceptible to a hepatitis E virus (HEV) infection. In addition we showed that the host’s gene expression profile is considerably changed upon viral infection. We now want to further dissect the influence of HEV on the hepatic gene expression profile.
