Project

The KU Leuven Brain Institute: interdisciplinary collaboration to transform neuroscience research in health and disease. (LBI)

The KU Leuven Brain Institute will unite all neuroscience research at KU Leuven. The goal is to achieve

excellence in neuroscience by joining forces to advance our understanding of the human nervous system, both normal and diseased. The LBI will foster new collaborations and new research lines that span the entire scope of neuroscience, from molecules to behavior and from in vitro systems to patients, to go beyond the state of the art. The LBI will form a creative and stimulating environment, where neuroscientists meet and find inspiration to tackle some of the greatest challenges our society faces today. Thematic focus groups bring together researchers from different disciplines around themes such as neurodegeneration, learning and plasticity, cognition, neuromodulation, consciousness and brainmachine interfaces.
