Laser surface modification of composite materials (fs-SPR)

The need for high precision components incorporating micro- and nano-features and functional surfaces is constantly increasing. In parallel, tools to produce such components and features are developing at a very fast pace. This is particularly true in the field of laser technology where high power ultrashort pulse lasers are now quickly entering the market and becoming more affordable. In this context, our research brings together a team with expertise in laser material processing, micromachining and materials to further develop exploitation demonstrators using an innovative surface modification method of nanocomposite materials by ultrafast laser processing.
