Linear electric actuator for fatigue characterization of materials in load configurations with (very) small force amplitudes

In laboratory conditions, the fatigue behaviour of materials is typically characterized by applying cyclic loads to the material. For certain material types and/or specimen geometries, the load amplitudes in fatigue are very small. Classical servohydraulic machines are not able to accurately apply these small load amplitudes. A linear electric actuator can control those very small loads precisely in fatigue.
