Oral health data registration survey in Belgian population (OHDRES 2023)

Population-wide oral health related data should be collected and reported on a regular basis. This allows the development and adjustment of optimal health care policies in the population considered. A first nationwide population based data collection of oral health data in Belgium took place in 2008-2010 (1). A next collection of nation-wide oral health data in Belgium was organized in 2012-2014 (2), but since then such a study has not been repeated. The organization of the next Health Interview Survey (HIS) in 2023 provides an opportunity for a new oral health related data collection. The OHDRES 2023 will be integrated in the national HIS , planned and carried out by Sciensano. Compatibility with information obtained in previous editions of the OHDRES and with international oral health data will be considered, allowing longitudinal and cross-sectional comparisons. In addition, the project will maximally consider practical, logistic and financial restraints.
