PhD researcher: security of supply and cybersecurity of the electric grid
With their extensive incorporation of information and communication technology, power systems are exposed to cyber threats. By targeting the information exchange process, malicious attackers can inject false data to cause power outage, economic loss, and system instability. Various types of cyber attacks can be accompanied by potential physical attacks that cause intensive destruction and economical losses in power system. Enhancing the impermeability of control and telecommunication infrastructures alongside with designing efficient methods for detecting and compensating cyber attacks are crucial majors of power system cyber security and resiliency. Gathering and generating comprehensive dataset and implementing artificial intelligence based methods are considered as the most significant steps, in this thesis.
