Policy Research Centre Well-being, Public Health and Family 2016 - 2021

The Policy Research Centre Well-Being, Public Health, and Family 2016-2021 (SWVG), an initiative of the Flemish Government, is a multidisciplinary consortium of the University of Leuven, the University of Ghent, the Free University of Brussels and the University of Antwerp. Partners are: the University of Hasselt and the following university colleges: Thomas More, Artveldehogeschool, Hogeschool Gent, and UC Leuven-Limburg.

The Policy Research Centre:

  • conducts scientific research to support the minister of Welfare, Public Health and Family in pursuing a decisive, innovative, effective, inclusive and integrated policy in well-being and public health.
  • conducts policy relevant scientific research
  • collects, analyses and opens up policy relevant data.
  • provides scientific consultancy.
  • is appointed and financed by the Flemish Government for the years 2016-2021.

In 2016-2021, we mainly realise coordinated and multidisciplinary research connected to the implementation of the ‘Flemish Social Protection”. In addition, the consortium answers new and current policy questions.
