Project

power, History, and Culture: A Study of Pakistani Literature

The aim of this study is to investigate the interpretation of historical events in the novels by Pakistani postmodern English novelists, to study the circulation of power in Pakistani society among different members of society, and to study the relationship between the culture and personal identity. The study will thus bring out how Pakistani society is being represented by the Pakistani English novelists. Another aim of this research work is to analyse the selected novels in the light of newhistoric critical theory because this critical theory examines the narratives in the domains of power, history and culture put together. Power, history and culture are the three dominant aspects of Pakistani society which are also part of the contemporary political and sociological debates all over the world since the beginning of war on terror.
