Project
A village in the school in the 21st century.
The project A village in the school in the 21st century challenges primary school children to build a miniature version of a village or town, that in terms of structure, materials, design and functioning gets as real as possible. To realize this challenge children have to analyse the assignment, organize the work, deal successfully with a the technological problems they face, seek help from people that have the expertise they lack A first helping hand comes from the teachers. But they as well will need and seek support within the local community. Parents and local enterprises have a wealth of relevant information and skills to share with the children. In short: the challenge will in a natural way stimulate children to take an entrepreneurial attitude in order to make their mini-site a masterpiece. To conceptualise, manage and support this project a partnership has been created bringing together the Research Center for Experiential Education, RvO Society andn IMEC. Together they are ready to create a support network with the participating schools.
