Geometallurgical characterisation of Zn-Pb mine waste in view of (near) zero-waste valorisation; Plombières, East Belgium

The aim of this study is to determine the spatial variability in the mineralogy and total geochemistry, including base and critical metals such as indium, germanium and gallium of a Zn-Pb tailing at Plombières (eastern Belgium). We will specify the solid-phase speciation and map the distribution of the metals in the minerals, evaluate the availability of the metals for further processing, and determine the applicability of the geometallurgical characteristics with a pilot study.
