“AutiBelieve”: Detecting and improving self-other distinction based on beliefs within the autism spectrum, with fMRI and tDCS. Ghent University
Scientists have suggested that the brain of individuals with autism may not apprehend that others have mental states, ultimately resulting in social problems. Our hypothesis argues that they may have difficulties grasping that others think differently from them, rather than with the fact that others think. Our fMRI/neuromodulation-experiments want to inform a pioneering new theory on human social understanding.
An energy-efficient voltage-time hybrid ADC with high linearity and PVT insensitivity KU Leuven
Analog-to-Digital Converters (ADCs) play an important role in mixed-signal integrated circuits. An ADC converts analog signals to digital signals which can be processed by Digital Signal Processors (DSPs). As the processing speed increases, the performance of the ADC should meet more stringent requirements, such as high speed, high resolution, low power, good PVT stability, etc. Although some mature topologies have been implemented for many ...
Testing and analysis of no more than 15 urine samples to detect the presence and concentration of EDCs including three parameters. University of Antwerp
Learning the ABCs of mite adaptations to xenobiotics: the role of ABC transporters and UDP-glycosyltransferases in acaricide resistance. Ghent University
All living organisms are exposed to potentially harmful compounds which they can only survive if these compounds are detoxified rapidly. For herbivorous arthropods, these consist of plant defense compounds, but also pesticides used to protect our crops. Spider mites such as Tetranychus urticae are major crop pests with a remarkable ability to develop pesticide resistance. Understanding the mechanisms of resistance and host plant adaptation is ...
Extensions of ROC curves and AUCs for classification and survival analysis, with applications to mathematical models for diagnosis and prognosis. KU Leuven
Extreme High Speed ADC KU Leuven
Radiation hardened high-speed ADC for imec’s next generation DARE platform KU Leuven
Radiation hardened integrated circuits are a necessity for applications in space, high-energy physics and nuclear facilities where ionizing radiation causes total dose degradation of the integrated devices as well as reversible and irreversible single-event effects from high-energy particles. The aim of this PhD project is to develop novel radiation-hardening-by-design techniques on system architecture, circuit, and layout level. Their ...
Keeping the fear down: effects of vagal tone and of DCS on the retention and generalization of interoceptive fear extinction. KU Leuven
Enhancing the T cell stimulatory capacity of immature DCs Vrije Universiteit Brussel
Although DC-based clinical studies have given promising results, and spectacular tumor regressions have been observed in a minority of patients, overall immunological and clinical ...
