The gas-phase chemistry in the circumstellar environments of AGB stars KU Leuven
The Asymptotic Giant Branch (AGB) phase is one of the final evolutionary phases of low- to intermediate mass stars. During this phase, AGB stars lose their mantle to the interstellar medium (ISM) by means of a slow and dense stellar outflow, creating an extended circumstellar envelope (CSE). The composition of the material that is expelled into the ISM is determined by the nucleosynthesis within the AGB star and the chemistry throughout its ...
InSusChem - Consortium for Integrated Sustainable Chemistry Antwerp. University of Antwerp
Sustainable Chemistry Consortium - co postdoc Spearhead Cluster Policy Ghent University
The Center for Sustainable Chemistry is an umbrella organization fully supported by the Faculty of Sciences, the Faculty of Bioscience Engineering and the Faculty of Engineering and Architecture. The center wants to respond to the implementation of SusChem as the European Technology Platform for Sustainable Chemistry at the European level and the implementation of the innovation cluster policy at the Flemish level which resulted in the ...
Fascinating oxidation chemistry with iron: from active site to catalysis. KU Leuven
Fe- and Cu-zeolites are active catalysts for direct catalytic decomposition of NO and N2O and for selective oxidation of hydrocarbons. While bent [Cu-O-Cu]2+ cores were recently identified as the active sites in direct NO and N2O decomposition and in selective oxidation chemistry, Fe sites though very active, have not been characterized in such detail. It is the goal of this project to do so in a joint effort between COK, CCC and Stanford. ...
