Interfacial bond formation of thermoplastic polymers with deformation histories in additive manufacturing KU Leuven
Polymer-polymer interface is everywhere in 3D printed parts due to the additive manner of manufacturing. Weak interfacial performance often limits functional applications of fused filament fabrication (FFF) printed parts. Although physical processes in FFF are well-known, it has never been noticed that the polymer strands can often be greatly stretched during the deposition to lay down the material. The elongational strain of the stretch can ...
RESONANT : multidisciplinary research cooperation on information suppression and diaspoRa communitiES as a target of fOreign iNformation mAnipulation aNd inTerference Vrije Universiteit Brussel
aims to create a better picture and understanding of State and non-State actors applying information suppression and to recommend
strategies, tools and methodologies to reduce the impact and the vulnerability of the target groups, as the Diaspora Communities. In
order to understand which actors outside the EU use in a coordinated manner Tactics, Techniques and Procedures (TTPS) of information

Fisheries Information System & Tools: Centralization and integration of fleet information in a GIS Application Research Institute for Agriculture, Fisheries and Food
The VISTools II project focused on (1) the improvement en expansion of the VISTools systeem, (2) analysing the feasibility of upscaling the system to other fishing vessels and (3) analysing the scientific relevance of the gathered data.
Research approach
The VISTools system was improved and expanded by developing a concentrator (robust data centralisation), ...
Accurate attention correction in PET-CT and PET-MR with information of time-of-flight (TOF) information Vrije Universiteit Brussel

Improving picture quality and clinical information with the help of Time-of-Flight information in PET Ghent University
In TOF-PET the scanner measures the difference in photon arrival time. This extra information is used in reconstruction to improve image quality. The first goal is to quantify the gain (signal gain or noise reduction) in clinical studies or patient like phantoms. The second objective is to determine if more accurate information from clinical data.
What are effective communication strategies for disseminating evidence-based nutritional information? KU Leuven
Due to technological advancements, there is an enormous excess of nutritional information available at all times. Concurrently, the quality of this information is often low and conflicting information is omnipresent. This conflicting nutritional information can lead to confusion, distrust in experts, lower intentions to perform health behaviour and the use of heuristics that can lead to errors in decision making. There is therefore a clear ...
The fungal herbarium of Ghent University: a valuable source of information hidden in boxes Ghent University
Mycologists are now routinely analyzing fungal communities directly from the soil using
metagenomics. In order to link these environmental sequences to actual species, a solid taxonomical
framework is needed with which sequence data can be compared. As most ecosystems worldwide,
tropical and subtropical African forests are depending on ectomycorrhizal associations, often with
fungi that form mushrooms. This project ...
