Role Changes of the EU and China in Climate Change Policy in interaction with EU-China Cooperation in the Post-Kyoto Era Ghent University
The research project have two targets: Firstly, it aims to identify and understand the role change of the EU and China in the post-Kyoto era. Secondly, it aims to examine the interaction between these role changes and EU-China climate change cooperation by focusing at both the bilateral and the multilateral level.

This PhD proposal analyses practices of nation-building in Flemish feature films, with a special focus upon the role played by film policy since 1964. The research proposal is consistent with international research and literature on the role of media in the construction of U+2018nationsU+2019, and is innovative in this field by integrating film policy.
Human rights and EU development policy. The reasons for sanctioning ACP countries Ghent University
This research project envisages to identify the most important reasons for the suspension of EU development aid in ACP countries in cases of violations of political conditions defined by the EU. On the basis of quantitative and qualitative indicators from 10 case studies, it will investigate whether economic interests, political-historic interests or the nature of the violation are most determinant.
The impact of the measures which were taken by the policymakers following the electrion s of 8/10/2006 to promote the equal participation of men and women in the local and provincial boards Ghent University
With the changes to the electoral law the policymakers tried to obtain an equal presence of men and women among the candidates for the municipal-, provincial- and district councils. The questions arises to what extent this obliged parity was also transformed in the presence of both sexes in the elected councils, as well as in the executives of these boards.
Research project concerning the effect of the media-educational project "Newspapers in the classroom" on reading habits and consumer habits with regard to newspapers Ghent University
Qualitative research through in-depth interviews with immigrants an students from the second chance education system, assessing their attitude towards newspapers and the media, the appreciation and social implementation of the project and the possible contribution of newspapers to the integration process.
