A technological study of Bronze Age full-hilted swords in the Benelux and France in their European context Ghent University
Thanks to new techniques such as CT-scan, it is now possible to perform high precision observations on and inside Bronze Age weapons to determine specific technical and typological features. Identifying these cultural components on a large corpus of solid-hilted swords will help approaching certain aspects of Bronze Age societies such as workshop’s organization, trade, mobility or transfers through Europe.
