Oral Health Vrije Universiteit Brussel
Within the research group, mainly clinical research will be conducted within the dental clinic. The emphasis will be on therapeutic aspects within the various disciplines (periodontology, oral implantology, restorative dentistry, orthodontics) and on the other hand patient-centered outcomes. The measurement of patient experience after therapeutic intervention is proposed as a cross-sectional research line.
Department of Oral Health Sciences KU Leuven
The Oral Health Research Unit conducts research that generates and applies biomedical knowledge and technology to oral health and disease and promotes translation of this acquired expertise to oral health and oral health care.

BioMechanics (BMe) KU Leuven
The research activities of the division are concentrated in three areas of biomechanics: 1. FUNDAMENTAL BONE RESEARCH: Both the relation between bone structure and its mechanical properties and the influence of mechanical sollicitation on bone remodelling are investigated. These relations are particularly relevant for the study and comprehension of fracture healing mechanisms and of osteoporosis. The division uses state of the art engineering ...

DENTAL BIOMATERIALS
The BIOMAT research group focuses on diverse kinds of biomaterials with orofacial application, and encompasses fundamental material science and biological cell culture, micro-organism and animal research, as well as applied laboratory and clinical research.
Current major research lines include:
- Biocompatibility and cariogenicity of dental biomaterials
- Dental adhesive ...
Orthodontics KU Leuven
Research at the KU Leuven Orthodontic unit is focused on aspects of orthodontics and dentofacial orthopedics both in growing and non-growing populations. Growth, development and morphology are evaluated in three dimensions whenever applicable.
- Studies on the role of the MSX1-gen in the ethiology of cleft lip and palate and hypodontia. - Hormonal interactions with craniofacial morphology and growth. - The use of dental maturation score ...
Periodontology & Oral Microbiology KU Leuven
The department of Periodontology conducts both clinical as well as more fundamental research. The clinical projects concentrate on an optimization of non-surgical periodontal therapy, diagnostics in Periodontology, planning and outcome of oral implants, diagnosis and treatment of halitosis. In 1996 the department created the Research Group for Microbial Adhesion. This new group covers research within a broad field of oral microbiology ...
