The realisation of the right to care of senior citizens in situations of welfare dependency: a qualitative study Ghent University
In this project, qualitative research is used to examine how the right to care of senior citizens in situations of welfare dependency is realised. The theoretical contribution is situated in relation to contractarian and solidaristic approaches to welfare rights and serves to explore the complex interrelations between senior citizens as the recipients of care, and formal and informal caregivers.

With this interdisciplinary project, we want to study the right to care for mentally disabled people in changing policy and administrative context. Via the combination of public administration and social work knowledge, we want to investigate the administrative and organisational conditions for the right to care in the changing system of personal care budgets in Flanders.
