Validation and standardisation of analytics in downstream bioprocessing of rAAV vectors. KU Leuven
The use of recombinant adeno-associated virus (rAAV) as a viral vector in the development of gene therapy products has seen a steady increase over the years. However, the production of rAAV-based gene therapies requires expensive and complex bioprocessing techniques that can often present challenges in terms of ensuring consistent quality of the product. Key critical quality attributes (CQAs) such as viral titre, capsid content and ...
Development and validation of affordable analytical methods to assess the quality of antimicrobial and antihypertensive medicines KU Leuven
The quality of drugs is an important aspect in the framework of public health. However, developing countries like Ethiopia face regularly fraudulent practices and together with a lack of resources and well trained analysts, good quality drugs can not be guaranteed. Consequently, more control is necessary. This requires the availability of (relatively) affordable analytical methods. Since these are not always available, this project will ...
Development and validation of affordable analytical methods to assess the quality of antimicrobial and antihypertensive medicines KU Leuven
The quality of medicines is an important aspect in the context of public health. However, developing countries such as Ethiopia regularly struggle with fraudulent practices, as well as a lack of resources and well-trained analysts, so that good quality cannot always be guaranteed. There is therefore a need for more control. This requires the availability of (relatively) affordable analytical methods. Since these are not always available, this ...

PFAST - Development and validation of a universal method for fast, low-cost and sensitive screening of PFAS in water, soil and biomass Ghent University
Currently, there is a great need for a low-cost, rapid and sensitive screening technique for the determination of residual per- and polyfluoroalkyl compounds (PFAS) in water, soil and biomass. Through this research project, we aim to further develop an alternative approach, complementary to the current state-of-the-art SPE LC/MSMS determination, but allowing for a cheap, fast and universal detection of PFAS.
