An autologous tumor-immune system humanized mouse model for the development of dendritic cell-based vaccines in lung cancer Ghent University
Current treatment for lung cancer fails on the long run due to selection of chemo- and/or radioresistant cells. Immunotherpay, in particular dendritic cell (DC) vaccination, emerges as a promising therapeutic alternative. In this project, a novel model involving autologous lung cancer and immune cells transplanted into immunodeficient mice is used to dissect tumor-induced immune suppression and optimize DC cancer vaccines.
