Exploration of new schemes for accelerated photo-thermo-elastic imaging in and around biological cells (PACIMCELL) KU Leuven
Photochromic biosensors and imaging for interaction sensing at low expression levels KU Leuven
The complex processes that take place within the biological cell often involve interactions between multiple molecules, and occur within a specific spatio-temporal context. Fluorescence imaging has become a solid standard for visualizing such processes within the native environment. By using fluorescent labeling strategies, it couples the cellular distribution and activity of biomolecules to a fluorescence-based signal and microscopic ...
Dual-band fibered confocal fluorescence microscope for the intravital interrogation of deep tissues and organs in real time and with cellular resolution KU Leuven
Imaging of receptor activator of the nuclear factor κ B ligand (RANKL) tumor microenvironment using immuno-positron emission tomography (PET) in models of head-and-neck and breast cancer. University of Antwerp
Improved intracellular delivery of upconversion nanoparticles by laser-induced vapor nanobubbles for multimodal bio-imaging applications Ghent University
Vapor nanobubble induced membrane poration will be explored as novel method for efficient delivery of upconversion nanoparticles into the cytosol of living cells. Benefits for in vivo cell tracking will be demonstrated over standard endocytic nanoparticle uptake, including improved labeling uniformity, high-throughput cell labeling, reduced toxicity, improved long term visibility and better signal quantification.
Sensitive probing of surface charging processes based on the electrokinetics of single colloidal particles Ghent University
The Center for Nano- and Biophotonics sets up research lines in the area of nanoparticles, microlaser technology and optical switches, biosensors, bio-spectroscopy, scanning of biomaterials, electro-optical particle manipulation and active nanophotonic implants.
Objectives
A. Fundamental research on charging mechanisms in nonpolar colloidal suspensions
In nonpolar liquids such as oil, colloidal particles carry almost no ...
