Migration & Equal Opportunity in Education ā a human rights law analysis KU Leuven
Belgium is a country of immigration. Labor migration, colonial migration, the arrival of different international institutions and membership of the EU, have brought a growing amount of non-Belgians into the country. Their influence on Belgian demographics is significant, most importantly so among children. Almost thirty percent of Flemish children have a foreign background, with ten percent having no Belgian nationality. However, the Flemish ...
Conceptualizing hybrid-fiction, the emerging genre in migration narratives Vrije Universiteit Brussel
New ways of reporting this compelling subject can tell a different story, drawing attention to the political, economic, and social magnitude of migration while, simultaneously, reaffirming the humanity of migrants. Media and migration research has, up to now, exclusively ...
Between local autonomy and national migration policy. Dealing with 'foreigners' in Antwerp, 1750-1914 University of Antwerp
Improving the performance of rock salt type cathodes for Li-ion batteries through control of the transition metal cation migration using redox reactions of the oxygen sublattice and Li-conductive coatings Hasselt University
Chair in Migration, Integration and Labour Markets with specific focus on labour market position of women and effectiveness of (labour market) integration programmes targeting recent migrants. University of Antwerp

Evaluation of the functional selectivity of the purino- and cannabinoid ligand-receptor system in cell migraton. Ghent University
G-protein coupled receptors are important sites of action for many pharmacalogically active drugs. In this project, we wish to evaluate the effects of purines and cannabinoids, with cell migration as a functional read-out. To this end, we will generate transient and stable cell systems for the screening of a wide panel of (potential) ligands. This functional information (cell migration) will be coupled to biochemical information (receptor ...
unVOICING Migraine - A Study of the Failing Voice KU Leuven
What can the voice reveal about the migraine experience and what can migraine teach us about what it means to be voiced? Shuttling between theoretical findings and artistic practice, Mariske Broeckmeyer turns to concepts provided by voice theory, disability studies, psychoanalysis, queer theory and philosophy to create a framework that studies the relation between migraine and voice. By introducing artistic research in the spheres of voice ...
Investigating collective brain dynamics underlying stimulus processing in migraine. Ghent University
With electroencephalography (EEG), it has been shown that migraine is linked to altered processing of stimuli. Crucially, stimulus processing involves and modifies the dynamics of several brain regions. A framework of analyses which complements local power and activation studies with connectivity and dynamical models will be developed to gain insight in the information flow of different brain regions.
