How Can Adolescents Proactively Manage Their Own Lives? The Role of Need Crafting in Adolescents’ Psychosocial Adjustment Ghent University
Adolescence is marked by both risk for maladjustment and opportunities for psychosocial growth. To better understand adolescents’ pro-active role in their own psychosocial growth, this project addresses a novel strategy, called need crafting (i.e., the capacity to actively seek need-satisfying activities). A series of longitudinal, diary, and intervention-based studies will examine the role of need crafting in adolescents’ adjustment.
