Digital Sports Memorabilia - Willingness of Fans to Buy NFTs in the Sports Industry KU Leuven
While it is still a fairly new concept in the sports industry, the interest and demand for nonfungible tokens (NFT) made for fans of sports teams and athletes is increasing (Cheng and Zarifis, 2022). Unsurprisingly, NFT-based Startups specializing in Sports collectibles are rapidly gaining in popularity such as the French Startup and Football Company “Sorare”, founded in 2018, which offers digital Tokens that are working similarly to Panini ...
ATMP Logistics (Advanced Therapy Medicinal Products) VIL - Flanders Innovation Cluster for Logistics
ATMP Logistics
In the pharmaceutical sector, a streamlined process from A to Z is the key to success, especially in the case of Advanced Therapy Medicinal Products (ATMP). The logistics of this distinct group of medicines is complex because of the specific requirements regarding temperature, reliability and traceability. With the ATMP Logistics project, VIL aims to provide an answer to these challenges.

Acoustic characterisation of ETFE cushions and their impact on the acoustic comfort of building users KU Leuven
Nowadays, many buildings are equipped with ETFE membranes and cushions. ETFE is a fluoropolymer that can be extruded to form membranes. These membranes are commonly used to construct visually transparent building claddings. Their use for covering large indoor spaces is relatively common. The design benefits include design flexibility, designing with less support material due to the reduced weight and an increased lifespan of the cladding ...

Functional analysis of the NBPF gene family with a putative tumor suppressiverole in different human cancers Ghent University
A constitutional translocation in a neuroblasoma patient identified a new gene, NBPF1. In this project, we want to investigate the tumor suppressive role of NBPF1. For this, we will use an inducible cell system and RNA interference. We will also perform endogenous immunoprecipitations and the identification of specific partners will further elucidate the possible functions of NBPF1.
Inhibiting nef: a novel drug target for HIV-drug interactions Ghent University
Efficacy of anti-retroviral therapy in HIV infected people is limited by the appearance of drug resistence. Non-enzyme drug targets need to be probed as alternative viral inhibition. The HIV Nef protein, shown to be an important determinant for in vivo pathogenicity, will be studied in this project as such a potential drug target for HIV host interactions.

worldwide. As Flanders is not a producer of large wind turbines,
operation and maintenance is one of the main fields where Flanders
can generate innovation and economic benefit. Such benefit must
come from making optimal use of available data.
Every wind turbine in a wind farm is equipped with a nacelle

Towards cost-effective patient selection for proton therapy in thoracic cancers: a framework for continuously updating prediction models KU Leuven
The ultimate project goal is to guide a cost-effective patient selection for PT in locally-advanced esophageal cancer and locally-advanced non-small cell lung cancer (LA-NSCLC) in Flanders using accurate prediction models of toxicity (NTCP models). The rapid evolution in the state-of-the-art treatments for these tumors, specifically in a technical discipline as radiation oncology, however, requires the systematic revision of NTCP models. ...
