Deciphering the regulation of long-term memory by neuripeptide regulation KU Leuven
To capture a multisensory world, our brain is equipped with sensory circuits that do not work in isolation but influence one another. Such cross-talk between sensory systems allows animals to adjust their choices and needs to multisensory input, increasing their survival chance. Yet, the underlying molecular basis remains elusive. In this project, I aim to deliver a much-needed understanding on how neuropeptide signaling in the brain drives ...

In 2016 serious concerns on the achievement of the EU Biodiversity Strategy 2020 targets, due to the continuing loss of biodiversity and degradation of aquatic habitats, led to the urgent adoption of a new Resolution for implementing ecosystem restoration measures. Moreover, on December 2018 the EU raised to 32% the binding renewable energy target for 2030, bringing further input to hydropower development. Meeting these targets sets ...
Redox-dependent regulation of Class II polyA-binding proteins Ghent University
In previous proteomics studies, we demonstrated that H2O2 stimulates oxidative post-translational modifications on class II Poly(A) binding proteins (PABPs). We hypothesized that these affect RNA binding activity. To address redox regulation of these abiotic stress-related PABPs, we generated transgenic plants in which wildtype and Cys-mutated PABPs are expressed and which will be subjected to detailed phenotypic and biochemical analyses.
