The Raymond Lemaire International Centre for Conservation, University of Leuven

Boekbijdrage - Hoofdstuk

The Raymond Lemaire International Centre for Conservation (RLICC) offers international and multidisciplinary advanced master training in heritage conservation at the University of Leuven (Belgium). This ‘master of science in conservation of monuments and sites’ is a ‘postgraduate master’ according to the European Bologna scheme. The carefully selected students already have an initial master (or its equivalent) in architecture, architectural engineering, art or architectural history, archaeology, history, civil engineering, planning, or urbanism. The master aims at educating young professionals in the preservation and restoration of built cultural heritage (buildings, structures and sites), introducing them into the tradition of the discipline and into new scientific methods both. The centre promotes reflection on the integration of heritage in today’s evolving society, for tomorrow’s generations. The multidisciplinary and international profile of the students and of the teachers guarantees that the program is broadly embedded within todays’ complex world of heritage.
