A linear estimator for timing calibration in time-of-flight PET
Boekbijdrage - Boekhoofdstuk Conferentiebijdrage
We study the performance of a method for the timing calibration of a TOF scanner using arbitrary phantom or patient data. The method uses an initial non TOF reconstruction and estimates the timing offsets of the detectors by weighted least-squares fitting. Assuming bias-free and noise-free estimates of scatter and randoms, the method is shown to yield an unbiased estimate. In addition a theorem and numerical results show that this simple method is close to optimal
