BPHOT

The Flanders Make B-PHOT core lab is very active in fundamental,applied and industrial research in the Key Enabling Technology of photonicswith a strong focus on optical systems and sensors. We are a leader in the field of:

·        Advanced freeform optics design;

·        Optical fabrication;

·        Optical metrology;

·        Optical fiber sensors.

Wehave a strong track record in photonicsknowledge and technology transfer to the industry (e.g. Tomra, Melexis, PunchGraphix, Barco, etc.). During the last 20 years we built up an excellent track record inobtaining important European Research and Innovation funding and have acquired a pole position in the EuropeanPhotonics Research and Innovation scene. We achievedthis through our coordinating role in large-scale projects.

In addition, we have also been working very successfully towardssetting up a high-tech pilot line for freeform optics in our PhotonicsInnovation Centre andare currently one of the very few researchteams in Europe that actively and continuously operate this type of opticaldesign, prototyping, testing and replication supply chain, open to all Europeanresearch groups and companies.
