Shari Mackens

Shari Mackens (°8/7/1987) graduated as a medical doctor from the Free Brussels University, Belgium, in 2012. Immediately afterwards, she started working at the Centre for Reproductive Medicine at the University Hospital Brussels, Belgium, as a PhD student and as a specialist in training in obstetrics and gynecology. From 2012 until 2017, she performed basic science research on endometrial receptivity and human embryo implantation. During these 5 years, she was funded by the Research Foundation – Flanders (FWO). Her research was presented in her PhD thesis entitled ‘Hypes and hopes for endometrial receptivity in ART’. She has authored several publications in peer-reviewed journals and lectured at national and international meetings. At present, she is completing her residency and is associated as a research fellow to the Centre for Reproductive Medicine at the University Hospital Brussels, Belgium.
