A new light on anti-trypanosoma drug discovery: bioluminescencemeets marine biology (LUCICOR)

To develop a standardised bioluminiscent in vitro model for blood stream trypanosomes for the screening of marine components.

Specific

1. Development of in vitro system for T. congolense.
2. Development of bioluminiscent T. congolense strains.
3. Limited in vitro drug screening of marine components and existing trypanocides in order to proof that the in vitro model can be for drug screening (proof of principle).
