Aurora kinases spelen een sleutelrol tijdens de cytokines bij eukaryote cellen. Recent werd een interagerend eiwit van Arabidopsis Aurora1 geïdentificeerd (Arctica 1) dat polair lokaliseert in tabaksuspsensiecellen. Doel van dit project is chemische moleculen te vinden die specifiek deze lokalisatie verstoren. Dit zal gebeuren door de ontwikkeling van een screeningsplatform via confocale en epitfluorescentie microscopische technieken.
