Game Mechanics as Thinking Mechanisms for Urban Development: Critical Making of a Serious Game Dubbed City Makers Universiteit Hasselt
We witness a growing interest from urban designers in technology to understand cities as complex systems. However, more than often, the use of such technologies is a one-way knowledge generation, meaning that the urban designer is the one benefiting the most. Coopetition and product innovation performance: The role of internal knowledge sharing mechanisms and formal knowledge protection mechanisms KU Leuven

Causal narratives in public health: the difference between mechanisms of aetiology and mechanisms of prevention in non‐communicable diseases Vrije Universiteit Brussel
Research in the health sciences has been highly successful in revealing the aetiologies of many morbidities, particularly those involving the microbiology of communicable disease. Physical mechanisms may be as important as brain mechanisms in evolution of speech Vrije Universiteit Brussel
We present two arguments why physical adaptations for vocalization may be as important as neural adaptations. Firstly, fine control over vocalization is not easy for physical reasons, and modern humans may be exceptional. Secondly, we present an example of a gorilla that shows rudimentary voluntary control over vocalization, indicating that some neural control is already shared with great apes.
