The Representativeness of Online Time Use Surveys. Effects of Individual Time Use Patterns and Survey Design on the Timing of Survey Dropout Vrije Universiteit Brussel
Like other surveys, time use surveys are facing declining response rates. At the same time paper-and-pencil surveys are increasingly replaced by online surveys. Both the declining response rates and the shift to online research are expected to have an impact on the representativeness of survey data questioning whether they are still the most suitable instrument to obtain a reliable view on the organization of daily life. This contribution ...

An international SUrvey on non-iNvaSive tecHniques to assess the mIcrocirculation in patients with RayNaud's phEnomenon (SUNSHINE survey) KU Leuven Universiteit Gent
To canvas opinion concerning the role of non-invasive techniques in the assessment of patients with Raynaud's phenomenon (Rp) in clinical and research settings: four nailfold capillaroscopy methods [videocapillaroscopy (NVC), dermoscopy, stereomicroscopy, digital USB microscopy], four laser Doppler methods (laser Doppler flowmetry, imaging, anemometry/velocimetry, laser speckle contrast analysis), thermographic imaging, and upper limb arterial ...
THE GALACTIC BULGE SURVEY: COMPLETION OF THE X-RAY SURVEY OBSERVATIONS KU Leuven
We provide the Chandra source list for the last ~quarter of the area covered by the Galactic Bulge Survey (GBS). The GBS targets two strips of 6° × 1° (12 square degrees in total), one above (1° < b < 2°) and one below (-2° < b < -1°) the Galactic plane in the direction of the Galactic center at X-ray, optical, and near-infrared wavelengths. For the X-ray part of the survey we use 2 ks per Chandra pointing. We find 424 X-ray sources ...
PH CARE COVID survey: an international patient survey on the care for pulmonary hypertension patients during the early phase of the COVID-19 pandemic KU Leuven
BACKGROUND: During the COVID-19 pandemic, most of the health care systems suspended their non-urgent activities. This included the cancellation of consultations for patients with rare diseases, such as severe pulmonary hypertension (PH), resulting in potential medication shortage and loss of follow-up. Thus, the aim of the study was to evaluate PH patient health status evolution, access to health care and mental health experience during the ...
The ADMIN-ICU survey: a survey on antimicrobial dosing and monitoring in ICUs Universiteit Gent
Objectives: There is little evidence and few guidelines to inform the most appropriate dosing and monitoring for antimicrobials in the ICU. We aimed to survey current practices around the world. Methods: An online structured questionnaire was developed and sent by e-mail to obtain information on local antimicrobial prescribing practices for glycopeptides, piperacillin/tazobactam, carbapenems, aminoglycosides and colistin. Results: A total of 402 ...
Evaluating survey consent to social media linkage in three international health surveys KU Leuven
BACKGROUND: The use of Twitter data for health-related research has been increasing over time. While the organic nature of the data offer new opportunities, the limited understanding of how and by whom the data are generated poses a challenge for advancing health-related research. Individual-level data linkage could shed light into the data generation mechanism. OBJECTIVES: This paper investigates whether consent to link survey data with Twitter ...
