Selected data from the LifeWatch/Jerico North Sea Cruise with R/V Simon Stevin in May 2017 Vlaams Instituut voor de Zee
This dataset contains station data collected during the JericoNext 2017 cruise. The data within is derived from https://doi.org/10.14284/549; its changes documented in Aubert A. et al. (2022) "From bacteria to zooplankton: an integrative approach revealing regional spatial patterns during the spring phytoplankton bloom in the Southern Bight of the North Sea"

Genotypes exhibiting an increased mutation rate, called hypermutators, can propagate in microbial populations because they can have an advantage due to the higher supply of beneficial mutations needed for adaptation. Although this is a frequently observed phenomenon in natural and laboratory populations, little is known about the influence of parameters such as the degree of maladaptation, stress intensity and the genetic architecture for adaptation on the emergence of hypermutators. To address this knowledge gap, we measured the emergence of hypermutators over ~1000 generations in ...
Updated list of QPS-recommended microorganisms for safety risk assessments carried out by EFSA Instituut voor Landbouw-, Visserij- en Voedingsonderzoek
The European Food Safety Authority (EFSA) asked the Panel on Biological Hazards (BIOHAZ) to deliver a scientific Opinion on the maintenance of the list of qualified presumption of safety (QPS) biological agents. The QPS approach was developed by the EFSA Scientific Committee to provide a harmonised generic pre-evaluation to support safety risk assessments of biological agents intentionally introduced into the food and feed chain, in support of the concerned scientific Panels and Units in the frame of market authorisations. The taxonomic identity, body of knowledge, the safety concerns in ...
PANTHYR hyperspectral water radiometry Blue Accelerator Platform 2020 Vlaams Instituut voor de Zee
Autonomously acquired above-water PANTHYR water reflectance data from a pair of TriOS RAMSES radiance and irradiance sensors, details provided in Vansteenwegen et al. 2019. Data passed automated quality control but has not been screened by an expert.

Broadband Acoustic Network dataset - Ambient Noise Trends in hybrid millidecade bands Vlaams Instituut voor de Zee
Hybrid millidecade bands computed from the acoustic data collected in the LifeWatch Broadband Acoustic Network. Hybrid millidecade bands computed according to Miksis-Olds et al. 2021 [1]. The output is given in power spectral density. The data were processed using pypam [2], in non-overlapping 1-minute windows. Each window is processed using a 1-second fft. Frequency range from 0 to 24 kHz. For data with a sampling rate higher than 48 kHz, a low pass Butterworth filter of order 4 was first applied to the raw data before computing the hybdrid millidecade bands. [1] Miksis-Olds , J. L., ...
