Grail: complete system for gait analysis (GRAIL)
The Gait Realtime Analysis Interactive Laboratory is a complete system for movement registration and gait analysis in a virtual reality environment. The system consists of an instrumented dual-belt treadmill with 3D movement registration system (VICON) and a 180 degrees virtual reality screen. The system enables extensive gait and movement analysis and training of gait and balance, using (self-developed) applications. The virtual reality environment can provide realtime feedback of the user's movements or can be used to make the training more challenging and relevant. The system is used in multidisciplinary research projects on mobility-related problems in different patient populations and is available for clinical and industrial partners, e.g. to evaluate the effectiveness of treatment, validation of technology of patient training.
