Project
A fully automated system for the generation of stained tissue slices for scientific research.
Advances in technology including spatial transcriptomics, multiplexed immunohistochemistry, RNAScope and others are increasingly gaining interest and use at KULeuven. Novel large-scale instrumentation for analysis have been installed and are successfully implemented. One major drawback to this stage is the laborious and time-consuming preparation of tissue sections that are needed, providing a real bottleneck in use of all the advanced analysis tools. Furthermore, interindividual differences can result in low reproducibility and there is a strong need for automated, reproducible tissue staining platforms. Here, we request the Leica Bond RXm tissue staining system. The Bond RXm system allows to fully automate tests, and is adaptable to perform IHC, ISH, FISH, multiplexing, RNA staining and other tests. The Bond RXm is a completely open system, allowing third party consumables and that is dedicated to research, which allows us accelerate throughput through speed, efficiency, and consistent automation, reducing manual work and minimizing user interference, therefore improving reproducibility of staining protocols.
