Philosophy of Scientific Practice

In this project I will further expand my research in practice-oriented philosophy of science. More specifically, I continue to work on four interlinked topics:

1. Causality, with three pillars (meaning, evidence and use) in various scientific domains.

2 The concept of law, especially in the social sciences.

3. Scientific explanations in various scientific domains (empirical sciences but also mathematics).

4. Evidence-based policy (including evidence-based management) with an emphasis on extrapolation of causal knowledge and analogical reasoning.
