Innovation mandate spin-off: Liquid-state surface fermentation of mycelium mats for the production of a sustainable leatherlike mycelium material (VLAIM8)

The overarching innovation goal addressed by this IM project is the development of a scalable and economically viable process for production of a sustainable and fully bio-based leather-like myceliumbased material targeting applications within the markets of luxury fashion & design, which meets industry standards while offering environmental benefits. Focus areas of innovation include the inoculum generation process, LSSF fermentation process and post-growth processing steps.
