Project
Development of AI based remote monitoring technology using wearable technology to optimize, personalize and improve patients’ care
The goal of this PhD research is to focus on predictive modeling capabilities for (lung) patients within a home monitoring context. More specifically, the research will focus on developing model-based prediction methods as a basis for improving i) care in predefined diseases, ii) the impact of discrete vs. continuous wearable data, and iii) the added value of integrating data of environmental conditions (e.g., air quality and humidity). The expected output of this research is a generic framework for model-based prediction based on wearable device/sensor data and living conditions/ambient conditions. This PhD research frames in a larger European Interreg project in the Rhine-Meuse region developing remote monitoring solutions for patients at home to create a transversal vision of (transmural) care with improved data flows and communication between primary and secondary care, and patients.
