Organisation
Medicinal Chemistry (Rega Institute)
Division
Main organisation:Department of Pharmaceutical and Pharmacological Sciences
Lifecycle:1 Jul 1977 → Today
Organisation profile:
The interests of the Laboratory for Medicinal Chemistry lay in the field of peptide, nucleoside and oligonucleotide chemistry. New substances are synthesized, analyzed and evaluated for activity in vitro. In addition, molecular modeling, NMR and mass spectrometry facilities are available and these units perform supporting research.
- Development of nucleoside derivatives with antiviral (AIDS chemotherapy) and antitumoral activity. - Development of oligonucleotides for chemotherapeutic and diagnostic purposes. - Development of oligopeptides as enzyme inhibitors (combinatory libraries).
