Wildlife crime in Ethiopia: A Spatiotemporal Analysis of Poaching Activities in Ethiopia’s National Parks and Implication for Conservation and Crime Prevention

Poaching is the second biggest threat to animal species after habitat destruction. It occurs at various times and places in protected areas. Therefore, understanding and mapping the spatiotemporal patterns of poaching would enable effective patrolling and law enforcement, and potentially reduce the decline in wildlife populations in protected areas and lower crime in society.
