Accessibility of substance abuse treatment for persons with a migration background: A qualitative analysis of five treatment centers and problem users with a migration background in Flanders, Belgium

We examine social mechanisms and factors linking the cumulative effect of socio-economic disadvantage and substance abuse service disparities for users with a migration background. We study the following hypothesis: "disparities in substance abuse services arise when disadvantages in the health care system interact with those in the community system" (Alegria, 2011: 377) in a cross-case analysis of five treatment facilities.
