Is Washington Ready for the "Equal partnership"? Kennedy's Legacy for Transatlantic Relations

Abstract:This article contains a detailed analysis of Kennedy's ideas for an equal transatlantic partnership and appraises its relevance today. The article examines in particular the American readiness for pursuing the equal partnership ideal at the closing of the Presidency of George W. Bush.
